Visily turns screenshots, sketches and text prompts into editable wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, aimed at people who are not designers.

Positioning

Visily is an AI wireframing and prototyping tool aimed squarely at people who are not designers — product managers, founders, business analysts, developers who need to show a screen before anyone designs it. It turns text descriptions, screenshots of existing products and photos of hand-drawn sketches into editable wireframes and higher-fidelity mockups, with collaboration and Figma export around them. The company was founded in 2021 by Buu Nguyen and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, incubated by KMS Technology, a software development and consulting firm (topreviewed.ai; grokipedia.com). What I look for in this category overlaps with Uizard but with a different emphasis: can a team take rough reference material — a competitor screenshot, a whiteboard photo — and reach an agreed, shareable prototype without a designer in the loop? In my testing Visily handles that workflow with more structure than its rivals and slightly less polish in the final visuals.

What it actually does

The input side is the strongest part. Generate Screen turns a text prompt into screens (they call the feature Screen Draft); Screenshot converts an existing screen image into editable components; Sketch to Digital photographs hand-drawn wireframes and reconstructs them. Around those sit component-level generation (Generate Component), diagrams (Generate Diagram), image generation, theme generation, Auto Prototype for linking screens, Rename Layer and Fill Content for bulk editing, and a Color Assistant. The hi-fi and lo-fi views are switchable, so the same project can present as a rough wireframe to stakeholders and a styled mockup to executives (visily.ai/pricing). On the professional side there is Figma import and export, Export to Code and — unusually for this category — a Visily MCP server so coding agents can work with Visily projects directly. AI depth features (AI plan mode, AI design instructions, AI deep design) are paid-tier only.

Pricing is credit-based and, at time of writing (visily.ai/pricing, annual billing): Starter is free with 300 AI credits per month per workspace (600 in the first month), 2 editable boards, 2,500 elements per board, unlimited view-only users, a 4,000-character prompt limit, 150 app-template credits per month and one free custom AI image trial. Pro is US$14 per editor per month with 3,000 AI credits per editor per month (600 per guest editor), unlimited boards and elements, Figma import/export, Export to Code, the MCP server, AI deep design and instructions, unlimited custom AI images, and the same 4,000-character prompt cap. Business is US$29 per editor per month, billed annually, with 10,000 credits per editor per month (2,000 per guest editor), 10,000-character prompts, SAML SSO, custom team management, a workspace library, 30-day version history and priority support. Enterprise is custom. Reviewer ratings sit at 4.4/5 across 36 reviews on G2 at time of writing (g2.com).

My testing notes

In my testing the screenshot conversion was the feature I used most and the one I would buy the tool for. I imported a screenshot of a crowded settings page and got back a properly componentised wireframe — grouped rows, toggles as components, a recognisable sidebar — in under a minute. It is not pixel-perfect (a custom icon cluster was flattened to placeholder boxes) but it is editable, which is what matters when the goal is to discuss structure rather than pixels.

Three more observations. First, the sketch scan worked from ordinary whiteboard photos in my runs, including one with two people's handwriting on it; the reconstruction cleaned up wobbly boxes into aligned components, and where it guessed wrong I could swap elements quickly in the editor. Second, the hi-fi/lo-fi switch proved genuinely useful in a review setting: I walked stakeholders through the lo-fi wireframe, switched to hi-fi for the executive summary, and both views stayed in sync — one project, two audiences. Third, the credit accounting needed attention: a full Screen Draft run consumed far more credits than a component tweak, and on the free Starter tier my 300 monthly credits ran out after a handful of full generations, so planning generations around what actually needs AI became part of the workflow. The 600-credit first month eases the evaluation period.

Figma export was clean in my test — the file imported with component structure and reasonable layer names, which is the bridge most product teams will use once a prototype becomes a real design.

Limits

What Visily does not do. Visual ceiling: output is credible wireframe-to-mockup fidelity but not production design — typography control, fine spacing and real brand execution are limited compared with Figma, and designers handed a Visily hi-fi file will restyle it. The free tier is tight (2 editable boards, 2,500 elements, 300 credits) once you move past evaluation; real work needs Pro. Business is billed annually only, and pricing is per editor, so circulating a prototype to stakeholders is free (unlimited view-only) but editing is not. Interaction design stays prototype-level: hotspots and basic transitions, no logic, data or states beyond what you draw. AI generation quality depends on prompt specificity — vague prompts produced generic dashboards in my runs. And as a product incubated inside a services company, the public track record is shorter than established competitors: 36 G2 reviews is a thin reliability signal, and there is no published uptime or support SLA below Business.

A few notes on the surrounding workflow, which is where Visily either saves a team time or does not. The template side is credit-metered alongside AI generation (150 app-template credits per month on Starter, 8,000 per editor on Pro), so browsing templates is not a free activity — a detail I only noticed when a template exploration ate into my generation budget. Boards work like lightweight canvases with elements capped at 2,500 per board on the free plan, which was plenty for a product flow but tight for a full multi-team map. The Export to Code option on paid plans produced readable front-end scaffolding in my check, useful as a developer reference rather than a shipping codebase. Against Uizard, my side-by-side runs found Visily slower to first output but better at organising and reusing structure (custom teams, workspace library, component templates), while Uizard won on raw sketch-conversion speed. Against Figma's own AI, Visily wins only where the user is not a designer — its whole design assumes you never wanted to learn Figma in the first place.

Verdict

Visily is the most practical tool in this review set for converting reference material — screenshots, sketches, briefs — into structured, editable prototypes a whole team can review. I rate it 3.8 on the rubric: core functionality is strong in the screenshot-to-wireframe path and the paid AI depth tools add real range (40% of the score), value is good at US$14 per editor monthly billed annually for what you get, usability is high for non-designers with the hi-fi/lo-fi switch as a standout, and support and reliability are adequate but young — G2 4.4/5 from 36 reviews at time of writing (g2.com), a 2021-founded company, Business-tier priority support only. The deductions are for visual fidelity that stops below production design, a free tier that ends quickly, and annual-only billing above Pro. For product teams who live on screenshots and whiteboard photos, Visily is the tool I would reach for first; for teams shipping final UI, it is the step before the real design work, not a replacement for it.

Sources

Pros

  • Screenshot-to-wireframe reconstruction was componentised and editable in under a minute in my test — grouped rows, toggles as components, recognisable sidebar
  • Sketch scanning worked from messy whiteboard photos with mixed handwriting, cleaning boxes into aligned components
  • Hi-fi/lo-fi switch let me serve stakeholders and executives from one project without maintaining two files
  • Figma import/export carries component structure and usable layer names — the practical bridge to real design work
  • Unlimited free view-only users on every plan makes team review cheap (visily.ai/pricing)

Cons

  • Visual output stops below production design — designers will restyle anything that ships
  • Free Starter tier runs out fast: 300 AI credits/month and 2 editable boards ended my evaluation afternoon (visily.ai/pricing)
  • Business is billed annually only and all plans price per editor
  • Prompt vagueness hit me hard — generic prompts produced generic dashboards with no recovery guidance
  • Reliability signals are young: 36 G2 reviews at time of writing and no published SLA below Business

Product managers and cross-functional teams who prototype from screenshots, sketches and briefs and need shared review before real design work starts.
