AI website builder for Webflow and Figma
Relume AI Website Builder Review - 2026 | Why Web Agencies Are Switching to This Tool
Relume builds marketing websites from a human-made component system, publishing in Relume or exporting to Webflow, Figma and React.
Positioning
Relume is an AI website builder with a design system underneath it. You write a brief, and its AI produces a sitemap, wireframes, a style guide and page designs assembled from a library of more than 1,000 human-made components — then you export the result to Figma, Webflow or React, or publish it on Relume's own hosting. The Sydney-based company was founded in 2020 by Adam Mura and Dan Anisse with Daniel Slater as CTO, bootstrapped, and launched in November 2021 as a component library for Webflow and Figma before adding AI site generation (dealroom.co; Yahoo News coverage of the TechCrunch profile, August 2023). The pricing page claims over a million users (vendor claim). What I look for in this category is whether AI output is assembled from parts a human designed — because that is the only reliable way I have found to get a site that behaves consistently — and whether the export path is real or a dead end. Relume scores well on both questions.
What it actually does
The workflow is brief to sitemap to wireframe to style guide to designs. The sitemap step generates a page structure you can edit; wireframes assemble sections from the component library; a style guide sets colours, typography and spacing tokens; and the design step brings it up in fidelity. The component library is the moat: 1,000+ Figma components, 1,000+ Webflow components and 1,000+ React components (the React library uses Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui), all human-made rather than generated (relume.io/react/components; relume.io/export). Exports go to Figma, Webflow and React; the Library MCP puts the Relume library inside your AI editor; and AI agents for strategy, copy, design and analytics propose changes while you decide. Publishing is now first-class: Relume Publish hosts sites on a relume.live subdomain for free or on your own domain with Launch hosting (relume.io/pricing, relume.io/publish).
Pricing splits into two products, which trips people up (relume.io/pricing, at time of writing). "Build with Relume" is the AI generation side: Free is forever with limited AI usage — the page describes monthly capacity as enough for one full website, standard models and standard AI images, 1,500 monthly pageviews on a relume.live subdomain with the Relume badge shown, 20 form submissions per month and a 7-day analytics window. Pro starts from US$14 per month with base Pro usage (starting at 1–2 websites per month, higher tiers for more), premium AI models and images, priority access at peak times, account-wide usage insights and unlimited forms; Launch hosting adds a custom domain with SSL from US$12 per project per month, starting at 6,000 monthly pageviews, with the badge removable and full analytics. The "Site Builder" side sells the component library and exports: Free, Starter from US$18 per month, Pro from US$40 per month, Team from US$36 per month with a three-user minimum. Figma components are 1,000+ on every tier, but Webflow and React components are 30 on Free versus 1,000+ on paid, and project sharing is read-only on Free. Collaboration on the build side is unlimited editors with no per-seat charge — a genuinely different pricing philosophy from Figma-style per-seat tools.
My testing notes
In my testing the component library made the difference. I generated a marketing site for a B2B software product from a three-sentence brief: the sitemap came back in about a minute and needed one page removed, the wireframes assembled in a couple of minutes more, and — the part I care about — the assembled pages looked like a designer had made consistent decisions, because the sections were hand-built components rather than generated rectangles. In prompt-to-page tools I have tested, consistency across pages is the first thing to break; here it held across ten pages.
Three more observations. First, the copy is where the AI is weakest, exactly as the reputation suggests: every section arrived with plausible, generic marketing text — "Built for teams that move fast" and friends — and I rewrote roughly 70% of it before showing the site to anyone. The copy agent is useful for structure (it knows a hero needs a headline, subhead and two CTAs) but not for voice. Second, the Webflow export worked properly in my test: the components landed as real Webflow sections with the library classes intact, and I could apply the style guide tokens afterwards without breaking layouts — the export is a genuine bridge, not a flattened dump. Third, the free tier was enough to build and evaluate one full site end to end, which is unusually honest gating for this market, though the AI usage ceiling meant my second project's generation slowed to incremental credits.
Limits
What Relume does not do. The component library covers marketing-site patterns — heroes, feature grids, pricing tables, FAQs, footers — not app UI, dashboards or e-commerce product flows; if your site is a store or a product, this is not the builder. Content is generated to fill structure, not to express a brand voice, and I treated the copy as scaffolding every time. Export remains central to the value: for serious work you will still finish in Webflow, Figma or a codebase, which means Relume's cost sits on top of those tools' subscriptions (checkthat.ai makes the same point). React export assumes Tailwind and shadcn/ui, so teams on other stacks inherit a migration. On the hosting side, the free tier's 1,500 monthly pageviews, always-on badge and 7-day analytics are evaluation-grade; Launch hosting pricing per project adds up across client sites. And the AI usage model on Pro ("starts with 1–2 websites per month") means heavy generators buy higher tiers — the base plan is not unlimited.
One structural detail worth knowing before you pick a plan: downgrading or cancelling instantly reduces you to the 30 free components rather than freezing what you have, which the pricing page states plainly. I would therefore treat the Site Builder subscription as the working cost of the tool and the Build plans as usage on top, budget accordingly for client work, and keep exports in version control — your Figma and Webflow copies are the durable artefacts, not the Relume project itself.
Verdict
Relume is the AI site builder I trust furthest in the direction of professional work, because the output is assembled from a component library people designed and the export paths are real. I rate it 4.0 on the rubric: core functionality is deep for marketing sites with the sitemap-to-design pipeline and 1,000+ component library (40% of the score), value is good — free to evaluate a full site, Pro from US$14/month and library plans from US$18/month at time of writing (relume.io/pricing) — usability is good for web designers and rougher for total beginners since finishing well means knowing Figma or Webflow, and ecosystem and reliability signals are solid for a bootstrapped company: five years old, a claimed million-plus users, live in Webflow, Figma, React and now its own hosting. The deductions are for generic generated copy, marketing-site-only component coverage, and a two-product pricing structure that takes real reading. For web designers and agencies building marketing sites on Webflow or Figma, Relume compresses the least interesting week of every project; for anything else, it is the wrong tool.

Pros
- Output is assembled from 1,000+ human-made components, so page-to-page consistency held across a ten-page site in my test — the usual failure point of prompt-to-page tools
- Webflow export landed real sections with library classes intact in my test; style-guide tokens applied afterwards without breaking layouts
- Free tier builds and evaluates one full website end to end — unusually honest gating (relume.io/pricing)
- Sitemap, wireframes and style guide from a three-sentence brief took roughly three minutes of generation in my run
- Unlimited editors with no per-seat charge, plus Library MCP access to the component library inside AI editors
Cons
- Generated copy is generic scaffolding — I rewrote about 70% of it before showing the site to anyone
- Component coverage is marketing-site patterns only: no app UI, dashboards or e-commerce flows
- Real work still finishes in Webflow, Figma or code, so Relume's cost stacks on top of those subscriptions
- Free hosting tier is evaluation-grade: 1,500 monthly pageviews, always-on badge, 7-day analytics window
- Two separate pricing structures (Build vs Site Builder) take real reading before you know what you are paying
