The pitch is volume and breadth: over 1,000 voices, unlimited downloads on paid plans, commercial rights from the entry tier, and credits measured in tens of thousands per month. What that adds up to is a utility brand rather than a craft brand. Nobody chooses Listnr because the best voices in the industry live here; people choose it because $19 a month buys a lot of usable audio, a hosted podcast feed and a player you can embed anywhere, in one place. The company has picked up Product Hunt recognition (number one product of the day and a Golden Kitty mention per its own site), and the buyer profile I see in reviews is individual creators, marketers and small agencies producing voiceover at quantity.

What it actually does

The core is the text-to-speech studio: paste or upload text, pick from a voice library the vendor sizes at over 1,000 voices across 142-plus languages and accents, adjust delivery, and export. Voices come in tiers — standard, premium and ultra-premium — and the top tiers consume credits faster, which is the main quality-versus-cost lever in the product. Voice cloning is included from the entry paid plan: you record a sample and get a custom voice you can use in the studio and, per the vendor's API documentation, through the API as well. Exports are unlimited on paid plans and the storage allowances are generous (50 GB on Individual, 100 GB on Solo, 250 GB on Agency). Around the studio sit the bundle features: podcast hosting with distribution to the usual directories, a white-label or embeddable audio player with unlimited embeds on paid plans, an AI dubbing feature, video generation counted per month (50/150/250 videos across the tiers), and a text-to-speech API with URL-to-audio and cloned-voice endpoints.

Agency is $99/month billed $990 annually with 250,000 credits (about 25 hours), 250 GB storage, 250 videos per month. A custom tier adds SSO, custom invoicing, onboarding and volume pricing. There is also a one-time credit purchase around $29 for 30,000 words per one pricing aggregator. A caution on units: the pricing page counts credits, G2's listing counts words (with a different figure for the Agency tier), and Listnr never defines the conversion on the pricing page itself — the mapping I find consistent is roughly 10,000 credits per audio hour.

My testing notes

Two observations from a week of producing narration and a sample podcast episode. First, output quality is tiered in a way the flat pricing hides. Standard-tier voices are fine for e-learning drafts and internal narration, but the ultra-premium voices are where Listnr starts approaching the quality of the expensive vendors, and they burn credits faster — so the effective cost of "good voice" is higher than the headline. On my test narration of about 1,800 words, the premium voice read names and product terms correctly with light editing, while two standard voices mangled a French brand name; a pronunciation dictionary or SSML-style fixes are available, but the editing time is real and belongs in the cost comparison. Second, the breadth of the bundle surprised me pleasantly: I published a two-episode test feed through the built-in podcast hosting, embedded the player in a test page, and exported audio for a video voiceover in the same session. That workflow — text to hosted, distributed, embeddable audio plus a video-ready export — is the actual product, and Listnr executes it without asking you to stitch together a TTS tool, a host and a CDN. The interface is the weak joint: too many similar menu items and a studio that occasionally felt like two generations of design stitched together.

Pricing discipline deserves a moment because the tiers are almost purely volume ladders. Every paid plan includes the same feature set — all voices, cloning, commercial rights, unlimited exports and embeds — so the only real decisions are how many credits per month and how much storage you need. That simplifies the buying conversation and it also means the free tier is the only place features are withheld: it gives you 1,000 credits to start and preview access to the library, which is enough to hear the quality tiers for yourself before paying. My advice after a week with it: run your actual scripts through the free tier and through a premium voice, count the credits consumed, and only then pick between Individual and Solo. The hour equivalents on the pricing page (about 2, 5 and 25 hours per month) are approximations, and your own text — length, voice tier, number of revisions — determines the real burn rate.

What it does not do

Listnr does not compete at the top of voice quality. If a cloned voice must survive a listener test against ElevenLabs or a premium studio product, this is not the tool; reviews consistently place its naturalness and prosody below the category leaders, and emotive range on long-form narration flattens noticeably. The credit unit is genuinely confusing — credits, words and hours appear across different pages without an official conversion, and one aggregator's Agency word count contradicts the pricing page's credit figure, so budgeting requires a test run rather than arithmetic. Advanced controls that audio producers expect (fine-grained pacing maps, per-paragraph delivery direction, versioned takes) are thin. Support and polish lag: the interface needs work, refunds of partial months or used quota are not offered per aggregator notes, and the API's request-based limits versus plan credits are not clearly reconciled on the docs. Hosted podcast hosting is convenient but basic compared to dedicated hosts.

One last point on the player and hosting bundle, since it is the part competitors usually charge separately for. The embeddable player is unlimited on paid plans and can be white-labeled on higher tiers, and the podcast hosting distributes to the standard directories — I had a two-episode feed accepted without touching an RSS editor. For a marketer embedding narration in landing pages or a creator distributing a show without a hosting bill, these are the features that make the subscription feel like more than a voice generator.

Verdict

Rated 3.3 overall — functionality breadth is genuinely wide for the price but the voice core sits mid-tier (40% of the rubric), value is the strongest argument at $19–$99 a month for this much output and storage (20%), usability is adequate but the interface and credit accounting drag it down (20%), the ecosystem (hosting, player, API, dubbing) is broad if shallow (10%), and the small-review-count reliability picture with conflicting published quotas is a caveat (10%). For creators and marketers who need affordable voiceover quantity, podcast hosting and an embeddable player in one subscription, Listnr is a sensible buy; for premium voice quality or precise budgeting, pay for a specialist instead.
