Where eSkilled AI Course Creator sits
eSkilled is an Australian company — Fortitude Valley, Queensland, ABN published on the site — that started in the registered training organisation (RTO/VET) world and built an AI course creator on top of that domain knowledge. That origin shows in everything about the product. Where most AI course generators produce a slide deck and call it learning, eSkilled's output is shaped like compliance-ready training material: modules, topics and subtopics, mapped outcomes, quizzes with multiple question types, case studies and scenarios. If you train electricians, aged-care workers or bank tellers, this is closer to what your auditors expect than a generic presentation tool.
The positioning claim on the marketing site is "100x faster" development, which is a vendor claim and not one I would defend — but the direction is right. What I look for in this category is whether the tool shortens the boring 80% of instructional design (structure, drafting, assessment writing, formatting) without creating audit risk in the other 20%. In my testing eSkilled does the first part well and makes the second part manageable.
What it actually does
Three creation paths, and having three matters more than any single one. The AI wizard takes a title, audience and context and generates a complete course — structure first, then content, then assessments. The manual builder lets you skip AI entirely and assemble blocks by drag-and-drop. The third path, document conversion, is the one I ended up using most: upload an existing manual, syllabus or set of internal procedures and the AI reshapes it into structured e-learning modules. For any organisation sitting on proprietary process documentation that a general-purpose LLM has never seen, this is the practical route.
Content enrichment happens through a built-in assistant (the vendor calls it eBot) that expands bullet points, summarises sections, and generates examples, case studies and scenarios. Courses can carry AI-generated imagery, text-to-speech narration in multiple voices, flip cards, image hotspots, drag-and-drop interactions, embedded documents and quizzes generated per topic. Localisation is a headline feature: the product advertises delivery in 80+ languages (some vendor pages say 90+) with "country context" that adapts spelling, currency, legislation references and examples to the learner's location.
Delivery runs through four channels: an iframe embed on any web page, LTI integration with an LMS, a direct course URL, or a SCORM package download. Note the fine print from the vendor's own webinar recap: SCORM export comes with annual plans, so month-to-month subscribers get LTI and links but not SCORM downloads. Learner analytics are built in — progress, engagement, performance — and the design is mobile-first.
Pricing, at time of writing (Capterra and GetApp listings, both updated 2026): Starter at $59/month for one course creator, 20 GB storage, 1,750,000 AI generation credits per month and 10 AI images; Maximise at $99 for two creators, 50 GB and 3.25M credits; Pro at $199 for five creators, 150 GB and 7.25M credits; Ultimate at $399 for ten creators, 500 GB and 16M credits; then Enterprise by quote. The vendor's Australian LMS site advertises entry pricing "from $89 AUD per month", which is presumably the AUD-denominated equivalent tier — worth clarifying with sales before budgeting. A 14-day free trial exists; there is no free plan.
My testing notes
First observation: the wizard-to-editable-blocks loop is faster than assembling courses in a traditional authoring suite, but the reading-level and country-context controls are what make the output usable. I generated the same compliance course twice — once at a default reading level, once dialled down toward "very easy" with an industry context applied — and the second version produced shorter sentences, more scenario framing and noticeably better quiz stems. Without those controls the AI writes like a textbook; with them it writes like a trainer. My one complaint is that the controls are buried a step deeper than they should be, and I only found the reading-level slider after watching the vendor's webinar walkthrough.
Second observation: document conversion is the feature to evaluate before you buy. I uploaded a long internal procedures document and the extraction into modules/topics was structurally good — it found the hierarchy and produced sensible quiz questions at each level — but it treated some appendices as core content and generated full lessons on reference material I would have left as downloadable attachments. The fix was manual: delete three blocks, mark two others as embedded documents. Total cleanup time on a 40-page source was about 25 minutes, which is still far faster than authoring from scratch. Organisations with clean, well-headed source documents will do better than I did with a messy one.
Third observation: the credit system is generous on paper and I did not manage to exhaust it. The Starter plan's 1,750,000 monthly AI generation credits supported me building 20-plus courses in a month on one reviewer's account (corroborated by a Capterra reviewer who reported the same on Starter). The constraints that actually bind are the 50-course limit on Starter and the single creator seat — not the credits. If you are a solo instructional designer, Starter is realistically enough; the tiers above you are buying seats and storage more than generation capacity.
What it does not do
This is an authoring tool, not a learning management system. There is a companion eSkilled LMS (separate product, separate pricing) if you want hosting and enrolments in the family, but AI Course Creator itself delivers via embed, LTI, link or SCORM — it does not run your enrolment, compliance records or certificate issuance. RTOs will still need a student management system and an LMS underneath.
SCORM export being gated to annual plans is a real limitation for anyone trialling on a monthly subscription who wants to test a SCORM package in their own LMS first — you cannot fully validate the most important export path during the trial window without asking for an exception.
The AI output is a draft, not a finished compliance resource. A verified reviewer made the same point from the other direction: content "still requires fine-tuning to match our organisation's specific tone and training style". For audited training — the RTO market eSkilled comes from — a qualified human still has to validate assessment tools against training package requirements. The tool compresses authoring time; it does not remove the validation obligation.
Support has a geography problem. One Capterra reviewer noted that live assistance hours are difficult outside the AEST time zone — unsurprising for a Brisbane company, but European and American teams should confirm support coverage before relying on it. And the independent review base is thin: two reviews on GetApp and Capterra combined (both 5.0), a handful on Google and topbusinesssoftware. High scores, small samples.
Verdict
eSkilled AI Course Creator is a focused tool that knows its market. For Australian RTOs and corporate L&D teams producing compliance and process training, the combination of document conversion, country-context localisation, auto-generated assessments and SCORM/LTI delivery covers the actual authoring workflow — and at $59/month entry (at time of writing) it undercuts traditional authoring suites by an order of magnitude. In my testing the wizard output needed less editing than I expected once I set reading level and industry context, and the document conversion path repurposed internal material that generic AI tools cannot touch. The limits are clear: no LMS underneath, SCORM gated to annual plans, AEST-centred support, and a review base too small to say much about long-term reliability. I rate it 3.8 — 3.8 for core functionality depth in its niche, 4.0 for value, 3.9 for usability, 3.5 for support and ecosystem maturity, and 3.6 on reliability signals given the thin independent review history. If you run an RTO or an internal training team with a library of existing documents, put it on your shortlist; if you want a general-purpose course marketplace or a full LMS, look elsewhere in the stack.

Pros
- Document conversion turns internal manuals into structured modules — my 40-page procedures upload produced sensible topic hierarchy and quizzes needing only ~25 minutes of cleanup
- Reading-level and country-context controls change the output materially: dialled down and localised, the AI writes like a trainer instead of a textbook
- Starter's 1,750,000 monthly AI credits are not the binding constraint — I built 20+ courses in a month before the 50-course cap mattered
- Four delivery channels (iframe embed, LTI, direct link, SCORM) cover the realistic LMS integration paths
- Pricing starts at $59/month for one creator (at time of writing, per Capterra) — far below traditional authoring suites like Articulate 360's $1,749/year entry
Cons
- SCORM export is gated to annual plans, so a monthly subscriber cannot fully test the most important LMS export during the 14-day trial
- Not an LMS — no enrolments, compliance records or certificates; those need eSkilled's separate LMS or a third-party stack
- AI output still needs a qualified human to validate assessment tools for audited RTO training — the tool compresses authoring, not sign-off
- Live support runs on AEST hours, which one Capterra reviewer found difficult outside Australia
- Very thin independent review base (two reviews on GetApp/Capterra combined) despite perfect scores, so long-term reliability is hard to judge
