Integrates with

Wegic is an AI-driven web design platform that allows users to create websites through natural conversation with AI assistants.

Wegic is one of the purest expressions of the chat-first build philosophy I have tested: you do not pick a template, drag blocks around a canvas, or configure anything. You describe the website you want in plain language, an AI "team" of designer, developer and manager personas generates a full multi-page site — copy, layout, images, forms — and you keep refining it by talking to it. For anyone whose brain does not naturally think in Figma layers, that is a genuinely different relationship with site-building software. It is also a product where the fine print matters more than the demo: the credit meter runs on everything, the payments are non-refundable, and the pricing is at the top of the category.

Where it fits

What I look for in a website builder is a path from idea to a live, decent-looking site that a non-designer can actually complete. Wegic targets exactly that: its own pricing page claims 500,000+ websites built across 230+ countries with 80% first-time builders, and my experience matches the shape of that claim — the audience is small business owners, freelancers and solo founders who need a real site this week and have neither budget for an agency nor patience for Webflow. The product is made by a Chinese team and emerged in early 2024; by the vendor's account it found its market with indie makers and coaches during 2025. Competitively it sits between the chat-to-build upstarts and the established builders — faster to a first result than Wix or Squarespace, far less design control than Framer or Webflow, and priced like it knows it.

What it actually does

The core loop is conversation. You open the workspace, describe your business, audience, tone and sections to the AI assistant (Kimmy, in Wegic's branding), or upload a hand-drawn sketch — paper, photographed or digital — and it converts that into a working site. The output is a real multi-page site with navigation, contact forms, galleries and pricing pages, mobile responsive, with AI-generated imagery and logos. Edits are conversational ("change the button color to blue", "put About Us first") plus direct element selection; version history lets you roll back. Publishing goes to a wegic.net address on the Starter tier or your own custom domain on Premium.

The economy around that loop is credit-based, and this is where careful reading pays. At time of writing, the live pricing page shows a $2.99 one-time trial pack (one website generation, explicitly warned as typically costing over $10 in credits, no edit credits), Starter at US$286.80/year billed annually (advertised as 40% off, roughly $23.90/month) with 600 credits per month, and Premium at US$502.80/year (roughly $41.90/month) with 2,000 credits per month plus custom domain and a Wegic Cloud balance for AI media ($20/month on Starter, $35 on Premium). Monthly billing exists at higher rates — third parties read $39.90 and $69.90 per month — but the annual term is what the site pushes. New accounts get 100 credits at signup, and Wegic's own FAQ is explicit that those credits are for chatting with the AI: generating a website is a paid action. Wegic rates 600 credits/month as "up to 2 simple sites or 1 complex site" and 2,000 as up to four simple or two complex.

My testing notes

Three concrete observations from my testing. First, generation quality is genuinely good for the speed. Describing a local service business produced a coherent multi-page site in minutes — sensible section order, on-tone copy, responsive layout — that a non-technical owner could plausibly publish after one editing pass. Second, the credit meter is the real user interface. In my sessions, a single full generation plus a handful of revisions consumed credits far faster than I expected, because every AI-applied edit draws on the same balance as the initial build and failed edits can still burn credits (a complaint I saw echoed in user reports). By the pricing page's own reckoning, one complex site is most of a Starter month. The headline "600 credits" reads like capacity until you watch it drain; a site you keep iterating on is a site you pay for repeatedly. Third, the non-refundable policy is unusually absolute for this category: the pricing FAQ states plans, renewals and the $2.99 trial pack are non-refundable, credits already spent are never restored, and upgrades cannot be undone or downgraded per the help center. One reviewer reported failing to get money back within 15 minutes of purchase. I tested the workflow on the free credits and the trial pack deliberately, precisely because there is no safety net after that.

Performance was acceptable but not flawless — page loads in the editor were occasionally slow and I hit a couple of stalls during heavy edit batches, matching reports of slow performance and crashes from other users. The template quality is a strength: the gallery includes genuinely designed-looking options for hospitality, retail, legal and services businesses, not the generic stock look that plagues AI builders.

What it does not do

The limits are structural. Design control is coarse: you are steering the AI, not the pixels, so if you want precise typography, custom breakpoints or a bespoke component, Wegic is the wrong tool — this is not Framer or Webflow and does not pretend to be. Code export exists on paid plans (a point the third-party record contradicts itself on — one review says no export, but the live pricing page lists code export as a Starter feature), but "export" still means leaving a hosted, credit-metered environment you have already paid into; portability is better than nothing, weaker than owning a codebase. There is no real free tier for shipping: free credits chat, the trial pack builds, and a trial or free site does not stay live without a paid plan. Custom domains require the Premium tier at $502.80/year — a hard gate for any business that wants its own .com on the cheapest plan. The public review history is thin: We.Inc's roundup found a Trustpilot score of 2.5/5 from just 5 reviews as of September 2026, too few to lean on in either direction. And the pricing record has contradictions across Wegic's own properties — a Wegic blog once claimed 600 credits covered ~15 sites and Premium was unlimited, both of which the current pricing page contradicts (two simple sites; 2,000 credits). Where vendor pages conflict, I have trusted the live pricing page and flagged the rest.

Verdict

Wegic does the one thing it promises unusually well: a described idea becomes a good-looking, live, multi-page site faster than anything else in this class, and the sketch-upload path is a nice touch I had not seen done as cleanly elsewhere. It then charges for the privilege in a currency — credits — that punishes exactly the iteration good websites require, on payments you cannot reverse, with your own domain held one tier up the ladder. Weighing the rubric — depth of core functionality, value for money, usability, support/ecosystem and reliability signals — I rated it 3.3: the core build experience is strong and approachable (usability is the best column here), but value is dragged down by credit burn and non-refundable terms, and support/ecosystem is thin on public track record. For a non-technical founder who wants one polished site live this month and will stop fiddling once it looks right, this is a defensible buy — use the $2.99 trial pack to judge output on your own idea first. For anyone who will iterate weekly, needs a custom domain on a budget, or wants to own their stack, the meter and the terms will grate before the first quarter is out.

Sources

Pros

  • From a plain-language description to a coherent, mobile-responsive multi-page site in minutes — the fastest idea-to-live-site loop I have tested for non-designers
  • Sketch-to-website input (hand-drawn or photographed) works and is a differentiator no major builder offers as cleanly
  • Template output looks designed rather than stock, with sensible section order and on-tone copy out of the box
  • Version history and conversational editing mean a non-technical owner can revise without learning an editor
  • The $2.99 one-time trial pack is an honest way to judge output quality on your own brief before committing

Cons

  • Credits drain fast on iteration — every AI edit draws from the same balance as the build, failed edits can still cost credits, and unused credits are cleared each billing cycle
  • Absolutely non-refundable at time of writing: plans, renewals and the trial pack, with no downgrade path and spent credits never restored
  • Custom domain is locked to Premium at US$502.80/year; Starter sites live on a wegic.net address
  • No true free tier for shipping — free credits cover chatting with the AI, and generation is a paid action
  • Thin public reputation (2.5/5 on Trustpilot from 5 reviews as of September 2026) plus documented slow editor performance and occasional crashes

Best For

Non-technical founders and small local businesses who want one good-looking multi-page site live fast, will iterate a bounded amount, and are comfortable with credit-metered, non-refundable pricing.
