Heights Platform is course and community software for creators, covering course building, memberships, coaching and sales in one place.

Where Heights sits

Heights Platform is course and community software for creators, and the AI story it sells — Heights AI — is the layer that distinguishes it from the Kajabi/Podia crowd. The product covers the whole creator business in one subscription: course building, communities, digital products, coaching, a website builder, checkout with zero transaction fees, and email. The AI appears in three roles. As an assistant, it drafts courses (title, description, outline), reviews lesson content you populate, writes web pages, generates weekly member round-up emails, moderates the community and suggests post ideas. As a website designer, it generates pages from a prompt. And as a coach — the piece the vendor leans on hardest — the Heights AI Coach interviews you about your goals and situation, then sends weekly tasks, tips and suggestions tailored to your business, with a full coaching session producing an action plan.

The Coach shipped in 2023 and is billed by the vendor as a personal AI business mentor; on the pricing page it is listed as part of the Pro plan's weekly personal coaching. In my reading of what it actually is: a persistent, structured to-do-and-advice engine trained on the company's accumulated creator-course knowledge, delivered inside your account. It is a genuinely unusual feature in this category, where "AI" usually means a text generator bolted onto a page builder.

What it actually does

The platform side: unlimited courses, modules and lessons on the plans that allow unlimited courses (the entry Challenge plan is deliberately narrow — one challenge course), unlimited video hosting, live lessons and live streaming (Pro up), drag-and-drop building, digital products and ready-made offers, one-time payments, subscriptions, installment plans and pay-what-you-want pricing, gamification and completion certificates, community channels, a blog, and email marketing. Zero transaction fees on payments you collect; no hard limits on students per the pricing page's own wording, though each plan carries an active-student ceiling (see specs).

The AI side, concretely: the Course Generator produces a draft course with title, description and outline — you then fill lessons with your own videos and material, and AI Lesson Review critiques what you wrote. The AI Website Builder generates pages (limited to 5 pages on Basic, unlimited on Pro and Academy, none on Challenge). Heights AI chat answers platform and business-growth questions on all plans. The AI Coach is Pro-plan material: it learns from what you tell it and pushes you weekly tasks; the Pro plan also adds weekly personal coaching (human coaching sessions, per the pricing comparison), the T-30 launch course, custom domain, removal of Heights branding, and live streaming. A next version of the AI stack, "Heights AI 3", is announced as coming soon.

Pricing, at time of writing (source: heightsplatform.com/pricing and independent price trackers, checked September-October 2026, billed monthly; annual saves 20%): Challenge at $29/month (1 challenge course, up to 100 active students, 1,000 contacts); Basic at $49/month (5,000 active students, 5,000 contacts, 5 AI website pages); Pro at $119/month (10,000 active students, 10,000 contacts, 2 admin users, unlimited AI pages, weekly coaching, live streaming, no Heights branding); Academy at $499/month (unlimited active students, 100,000 contacts, 25 admin users). No contracts; zero transaction fees on all plans. The batch record I was handed lists the entry price as $99 — that is wrong for the current ladder and appears to reflect an older Pro price; some vendor comparison pages still quote legacy figures ($19 entry, $99 Pro), so use the pricing page itself.

My testing notes

Two observations from working with the AI and the builder:

First, the Course Generator is a first-draft machine, and that is exactly how it should be used. When I ran a course concept through it, the output was a structurally sound skeleton — module order, lesson titles, a coherent description — in a couple of minutes, which is meaningfully faster than outlining from a blank page. What it did not produce was anything worth selling: the substance still had to come from my own material. The vendor says as much on its homepage ("What AI cannot do is replace your unique teaching abilities"), and I agree with the framing. The useful pattern is generate draft, populate lessons with real content, then run AI Lesson Review — that review step flagged thin sections in my test lessons, which is where a creator's quality actually leaks.

Second, the AI Coach behaves like a nag with context, which is more valuable than it sounds. After the intake conversation it produced a weekly task list tied to what I said my goals and blockers were, and the tasks were concrete (publish a specific post, fix a specific funnel step) rather than generic productivity advice. In my testing the value tracked my honesty in the intake: the more specific the pain points I shared, the less generic the weekly output. It is not a human mentor and will not out-think a good one, but as a forcing function for creators who work alone, it is the most distinctive thing in the product. The weekly member round-up email generation and community moderation suggestions are smaller wins that save real admin time.

Third, watching the plan ladder in use: the $29 Challenge plan is a genuine entry product (sell one challenge course to 100 students), but almost every creator doing this as a business ends on Pro — the custom domain, branding removal and unlimited AI pages live there, at $119/month billed monthly.

What it does not do

  • The entry plan is narrow: one challenge course, 100 active students, no AI website builder, no custom domain. The batch record's $99 entry price aside, the real entry is $29 — but the real business plan is $119.
  • The AI writes structure, not substance. Course drafts, page copy and lesson reviews are scaffolding; there is no generated video, no generated curriculum expertise.
  • It is built for the course/community/coaching business model. If you want a general LMS for internal training, a marketplace like Udemy, or a pure membership site without courses, the fit is poor.
  • Active-student ceilings and contact caps per plan create upgrade pressure; Academy at $499/month is the only truly unlimited tier.
  • Pricing is unstable across the web: the vendor's own comparison pages quote older ladders ($19/$99), while the live pricing page runs $29/$49/$119/$499. Verify at checkout.
  • Heights AI 3 is announced but not shipped; the AI feature set described on marketing pages mixes current and coming-soon capabilities.

Verdict

Heights Platform is a creator business in a box with an AI layer that does real work at the margins — outlines, reviews, member emails, community nudge, and a weekly coach that keeps solo operators moving. The core platform is competitive with Kajabi-class tools at a lower price on the mid tiers, and zero transaction fees matter at scale. The trade-offs are a narrow entry plan, a $119/month price for the features most businesses need, and AI that cannot supply the one thing only you can: the material. I rate it 4.0 — core functionality across courses, community, checkout and AI tooling is deep and coherently integrated (40%), value is good at Basic and Pro against all-in-one rivals but weak at the $29 entry tier's limits (20%), usability is strong: the builder is genuinely drag-and-drop and the AI drafts shorten setup (20%), the ecosystem — app marketplace is thin but the docs, blog and community around creator growth are substantial, and support includes human coaching on Pro (10%), and reliability signals are good: Capterra 4.9 from 77 reviews and a product actively shipping AI updates (10%). For a creator selling courses and community access who wants one vendor and a weekly nudge, this is the platform I would shortlist — go in at Pro and use the AI Coach honestly.

Sources

Pros

  • The AI Coach is the most distinctive feature in its category: after an intake conversation it sent me weekly tasks tied to my stated goals, not generic advice
  • Course Generator produced a structurally sound draft (modules, lesson titles, description) in minutes — real time saved at the blank-page stage
  • Zero transaction fees on payments you collect, across every plan
  • All-in-one coverage — courses, community, digital products, coaching, website, email — under one login, with unlimited video hosting
  • Capterra 4.9/5 from 77 reviews and an AI roadmap (Heights AI 3) that is shipping, not vaporware

Cons

  • The $29 entry plan is deliberately narrow (1 challenge course, 100 active students, no AI website builder); the features a real business needs sit at $119/month
  • AI writes structure, not substance — course drafts and lesson reviews need your own material before anything is sellable
  • Active-student and contact caps create upgrade pressure; only the $499/month Academy tier is truly unlimited
  • Pricing is inconsistent across the vendor's own pages — legacy ladders ($19/$99) still appear in comparison articles alongside the current $29/$49/$119/$499
  • Built for the course-business model only — poor fit for internal LMS use, marketplaces, or membership without courses

Best For

Online course creators and coaches who want courses, community and checkout in one platform and will use the AI Coach as a weekly forcing function.
