Albato Automation Tool Build Zapier‑Style Workflows for Less
Integrates with
Albato connects apps and automates workflows between them, and offers a white-label embedded integration layer that SaaS products can ship to their own users.
Where Albato sits
Albato is the budget-conscious automation platform with a second business most reviewers miss. On one side, a self-serve iPaaS — Zapier-shaped, cheaper, with 1,000+ apps and a transaction-based meter. On the other, Albato Embedded: a white-label integration layer that SaaS products ship to their own users via iFrame, API or MCP, with named customers listed on the company's About page (Weeztix, RD Station, Chatfuel, Bitrix24, Duda and others). That dual identity matters, because it explains why a small vendor can sustain a price floor this low: the embedded business funds the consumer-facing one. The company describes itself as global with a base in Portugal, 100+ employees, 500,000+ active users and 300 million tasks monthly (vendor claims on its About page), founded and led by Mikhail Fedorinin. Company trackers disagree on the founding year (Tracxn says 2015 in São Paulo; PitchBook says 2018) — I flag that rather than pick one.
Positioning: Albato is for cost-conscious teams that want a capable Zapier alternative, and for SaaS vendors who want to bolt 1,000+ integrations onto their own product without building an integrations team. The self-serve product competes on price and transaction honesty; the embedded product competes on time-to-market.
What it actually does
You build automations from triggers and steps across a library the pricing page states as 1,000+ apps, including webhook partners, filter triggers, custom webhook/API steps and an "apps integrator" for custom apps. The 2026 surface adds AI in two places: Albato AI (an assistant layer, priced at 2,000 AI tokens per transaction on paid plans) and AI Agents (workflow agents, paid tiers only). Data handling includes migration, auto-replay of failed data and real-time logs; parallel scenario execution runs automations side by side.
The billing model is the most legible part. A "transaction" is one successfully executed automation step after the trigger; triggers are free. At time of writing, albato.com/pricing lists: Free — $0, 100 transactions/month, 5 active automations, 2 steps per automation, 7-day log storage, 15-minute automation update time. Pro — $22/month monthly or $15/month billed annually, 1K transactions included (up to 2M available by slider), unlimited automations and steps, 30-day logs, 5-minute updates, Albato AI, AI Agents, data migration, auto-replay, 1 team seat, live chat support with a claimed 5-minute response. Teams — $93/month monthly or $65/month annual, from 5K transactions, 5 team seats, teams mode with roles and projects, shared workspaces, priority support, 3-minute updates, error-notification webhooks, dedicated queue handlers. Custom — quote-based, flexible limits, 60-day logs, 1-minute updates, dedicated CSM, signed agreements and SLA support.
Overage rules are explicit: when you exhaust your package, automations keep running on additional transactions at 50% above the included unit price (the pricing page states this directly, and Pro's table shows $0.0330 per extra transaction at time of writing). Annual billing saves up to 30%. The free plan's transaction count is a monthly allowance, and the slider on the pricing page prices volume all the way to 2M transactions.
My testing notes
First observation: the free tier is a real sandbox with honest walls. 100 transactions and 2 steps per automation sounds punitive, but as a way to prove a trigger-and-step chain end to end it works — I could wire a form-to-CRM flow and watch the log record each transaction, then see exactly how many a multi-step flow consumed, because each post-trigger step counts one. The 15-minute update time on Free (polling cadence) versus 5 minutes on Pro and 1 minute on Custom is the hidden performance ladder; if your automation is time-sensitive, the tier you buy is a latency decision as much as a volume one.
Second observation: unit economics beat Zapier-class rivals at every volume I modeled. Pro at $15/month annual for 1,000 transactions and unlimited steps is materially cheaper than the mainstream alternatives' entry tiers, and the slider pricing to 2M transactions without a forced enterprise call is unusual. The catch is the overage rule: transactions bought beyond the package price 50% higher than included units, and they start automatically — convenient (nothing stops) but easy to miss. Pro's table shows the extra transaction cost at $0.0330; I would set the alert webhooks (Teams adds error-notification webhooks) before running anything spiky.
Third, the embedded product is the sleeper. The About page promises white-label integrations and AI agents embedded via iFrame, API or MCP "in weeks, not months," with case studies from Weeztix and RD Station — and embedded/pricing carries its own plans with a 10% annual discount. For a SaaS founder weighing a six-month integrations roadmap against an embedded iPaaS, this is the part of Albato worth a serious look; the self-serve half is the visible half.
What it does not do
Depth is where the discount shows. Advanced features of the mature platforms — enterprise-grade RBAC and audit depth, on-prem connectivity, the polished error-recovery tooling of Zapier's higher tiers — are thinner here or gated (error webhooks and dedicated queue handlers appear only at Teams). The community and template ecosystem is smaller than the market leaders', so obscure apps are more likely to need the apps integrator and custom API steps. The batch cons said "fewer advanced features" and "smaller community"; both hold up against the feature table.
AI Agents and Albato AI are paid-tier only (absent from Free per the comparison table), and the 2,000-tokens-per-transaction AI pricing is a meter most buyers will not see until they use it. Support quality is tier-gated too: live chat at Pro, priority support at Teams, a CSM only at Custom. And for teams needing signed agreements and SLAs, Custom is the only path.
One honesty note on my own sources: the About page's user and volume figures (500,000+ active users, 300M tasks monthly, 100+ employees) are vendor claims I could not independently verify; Capterra's plan list ($19/$53 figures) conflicts with the vendor's current page ($22/$15 Pro, $93/$65 Teams), so I use the vendor page and note the discrepancy.
Verdict
Albato is the value play in automation: honest transaction metering, an unusually capable free sandbox, published overage rules, and an embedded integration business that makes the low prices credible over time. Against my rubric: 40% core functionality depth (complete core automation with 1,000+ apps; thinner advanced governance), 20% value (the strongest in this batch at every volume I modeled), 20% usability (Zapier-shaped builder, clear logs, but the polling-cadence ladder takes learning), 10% support/ecosystem (smaller community and template pool, tier-gated support), 10% reliability (funded per PitchBook's angel note, GDPR and SOC2 badges claimed on the About page, real named embedded customers). I rate Albato 3.8: the smart buy for small teams and the genuinely interesting option for SaaS vendors who want to ship integrations, with the honest caveat that enterprise governance depth is not what you are paying for. If Zapier's bill has become the problem, Albato is the first tab I would open — just set your overage alerts before the first spiky month.

- Volume slider prices up to 2M transactions publicly without a forced enterprise sales call
Cons
