Conch Video
Pros
- + Independent blind-preference benchmarks back the quality claims: Hailuo 02 topped Veo 3 in the Artificial Analysis image-to-video arena, and H3 ranked #1 in Video Editing with Audio (as of July 2026)
- + H3 is genuinely omni-modal — up to 12 text/image/video/audio reference files, 4–15s clips at up to 2K with native stereo audio
- + Cheap iteration path: Hailuo 2.3 Fast and low-res drafts render for a fraction of flagship credits (Fast runs ~30–50% below standard per clip on the API)
- + Subject reference plus camera-direction presets gave me consistent characters and controllable moves across shots in testing
- + Web plus iOS/Android on one credit balance, and Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.0 available alongside MiniMax's own models
Cons
- - 15-second clip ceiling even on H3 — no long-form sequencing or editing timeline; stitching happens elsewhere
- - Membership credits expire monthly with no rollover, and plan prices/allowances shifted repeatedly through 2025–2026 (Max credits moved 20,000→27,000; offer prices revert)
- - Published creations are visible to other users along with their prompts, and uploaded face photos are processed for facial features
- - Free tier is a sampler only: one-time trial credits, watermarked output, one render at a time, and advertising use is barred
- - Ultra/Max 'unlimited' applies to older models while the newest H3 generation stays metered by credits
Riverside.fm
Pros
- + Local capture on each participant's device kept a guest's 4K/48kHz track clean in my test despite a freezing video call
- + Text-based editing plus silence and filler-word removal turned episode editing into a review pass
- + Separate high-quality track per speaker makes real multitrack repair possible
- + Publishing stack (hosting, show notes, magic clips, newsletter, live streaming) covers the whole podcaster workflow
- + 14-day trial on paid plans lets you pressure-test guest onboarding with your real guest list
Cons
- - Free plan is two hours of recording total at 720p with watermark — a demo, not a hobby tier
- - Guests need a modern browser or the app with camera/mic permissions; no phone dial-in on standard plans
- - Final high-quality tracks upload after the call, and long 4K sessions mean real waiting
- - Growth features (scheduling, newsletter, live studio, webinars) are tier-gated above Pro
- - Editing ceiling: no multi-track audio mixing or colour grading, so finishing happens in a real NLE
